SPS Daisy Fairy

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase and image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have chosen to work with the beautiful image Daisy Fairy by Joanne Schempp which is available from the Sweet Pea Store in digi format.
To begin with I designed and cut my card sections.
Next I coloured the image with Promarkers.
For the matting behind the digi which I cut on my die cutter I added lace.  Only the edges of the mount were coloured to match the digi as the rest of the area will be hidden - no point in wasting precious ink lol.
I printed the sentiment and mounted in on a Spellbinder Scalloped Oval which I coloured the edges of in the same way as the other scalloped mount.
I then assembled all the sections of the easel card, adding pearl strands behind the image mount too.  It was then onto the bottom section.  I finished this off with some daisy vellum and a Spellbinder die Nestabilities-labels-20 for the writing area.  The sentiment was used to hold the top section in place when standing.  The daisies were made using Sizzix Mini Daisies and were finished off with yellow Flower Soft and some more pearl stems.
And here we have the finished card :)

Ingredients:-
  • Image - Daisy Fairy  by Joanne Schempp
  • Colouring Medium - Promarkers
  • Dies - Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals and Nestabilities-labels-20, Sizzix Mini Daisies and the others by me

Skelly Cup

Time for another challenge over at

Challenge 32
Paper Piecing

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, just remember, you must use and IKEsART image to be eligible for the prize.  Why not pop on over to the store too :), Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

For this fortnights inspiration I used the awesome new digi 'Skelly Cup' which Ike designed for me to use :) Thanks Ike, you are a superstar.  I do love these tea bag boxes and this digi was just perfect.  So here we go on what I did.

I seem to have deleted the first few pics off my camera but I started with cutting the template for my box.  I then printed the image 4 times for the paper piecing.  The first layer was the whole image as usual, second layer the saucer and cup, third layer just the cup and the top layer was the front section of the saucer.

Next I cut the front, back and side panel toppers and stamped these then embossed them with Silver Dollar embossing powder.  I also did the same with the handle section of the box.
The silver was way to bright, I thought I had Gun Metal embossing powder but alas not. To get around the problem I airbrushed the embossed areas with my black Promarker.  The image is showing this as a bit rusty but in real life it is more a metallic black.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and then used a die for the bottom section.  The sentiment just came to me as I was about to print, I did have something else in mind but my fingers did the typing and they came up with 'Time for a Brew' hahahaha.  Both the label and the image background were then distressed with black chalk.
Here you can see the paper piecing, I used 3D glue dots as I did not want to much of a gap between the layers.
To finish off these sections I use Black mica (Frantage) and some super strong sticky glue to attache the bits.
The panels, image and sentiment were glued to the box and tea bags added :).  Three buttons were added to the right hand side just to help balance out the front view of the completed project.

Medicine Woman

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase and image from Sweet Pea Stamps.  As it is Featured Artist Week the whole DT are working with images by Linda Biggs and I have chosen to work with the beautiful image Medicine Woman which is available from the Sweet Pea Store in both rubber and digi.

I have a bunch of design papers from magazines and they just seem to sit there unused so I am making a conscious effort this year to attack the pile lol.  With that in mind my first step was to choose my backing paper and then colour my image around those colours.  With that done I used a peel off birthday sticker in white and airburshed it with my Promarker, one of the colours used in the image.  I should add the image was coloured with Promarkers and I chalked the background. The sentiment was, once dry, placed on some of the DP used for the background and then die cut.
To finish off the card I used a Dreamcatcher die from Cherry Lynn which I airbrushed and Sizzix  - Ornate Hanging Sign.  The sentiment was cut with Xcut tags. a lace border was added along the bottom edge and a bow tied with the same lace and then airbrushed with my Lilac Promarker.  Finally, some pink Stickels on the dreamcatcher and pearls picking out the three main colours, pink green and blue.

Ingredients:-
  • Image - Medicine Woman by Linda Biggs and available from Sweet Pea Store in both rubber and digi
  • Colouring Medium -  Promarkers
  • Dies -  Dreamcatcher die from Cherry Lynn,  Sizzix - Ornate Hanging Sign and XCut tags
  • From my stash, lace, pearl brads, blue gems and Stickles

Iris

Hello folks.  We have another challenge at One Stitch At A Time so how about popping over to see all the fabulous creations by the design team.  The prize this month is an awesome digi pack containing several images and a paper pack too - how cool is that.

Challenge #231

Theme 'Anything Goes with Birthdays'

For this fortnights creation I am working with the Iris digital stamp and paper pack by Coosty Creations available from the StitchyBear Digital Outlet.  The pack contains the image to colour and four papers.

I love giving these boxes with tea bags in to my friends and I think they like getting them too lol.  I designed the template for the box a wee while ago so my first job was to gut it out.
I then embossed each of the sections with an Embossilicious A4 embossing folder.
Next, using one of the papers from the pack I cut four panels and glued them to four panels I had cut using the same mauve card as the box.  I then distressed the edges.
The mounts were attached to the box and I added some ready pleated lace in the just the perfect colour around the top edge.
Next I coloured the image with Promarkers.
While thinking (which I occassionally do :) ) I thought it would be rather sweet to add some peel off corners to each of the bottom corners.
Next I moved onto the toppers.  Using Spellbinders Ovals, Scalloped Oval, Circles and Scalloped Circles for the image and the sentiment.  The sentiment was stamped with a Just Rite stamp.  Before attaching the sections together I added some white lace around the edges of the image and sentiment parts, I then attached these to the rear sections which also used the paper from the pack.  Liquid pears were added around the edges of the toppers too.
And here we have the completed box (well almost complete - just needs some tea)
 Now it is complete :)

Ingredients:-
  • Image and Paper Pack- Iris digital stamp and paper pack by Coosty Creations
  • Colouring medium - Promarkers
  • Dies - box design by me, Spellbinders Ovals, Scalloped Ovals, Circles and Scalloped Circles
  • From my stash - lace, corner peel off stickers and Liquid Pearls

SPS - Munchies

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase and image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have chosen to work with the beautiful image Munchies by Karen Middleton which is available from the Sweet Pea Store as a digi.

I have decided to make a box to hold a muffin for a change, a nice wee gift to give to my friend on her birthday I hope <g>  Alas I have to buy the muffin as I can't cook and won't cook lol.

To begin with I made a template for the box and lid and then covered them with gift wrapping paper.
With all the corners glued and the acetate windows in place it was time to put the box to one side to dry.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and then chalked the background.
A simple tag was made using Spellbinders Scalloped ovals, the larger back one was covered in the wrapping paper before die cutting.  I then coloured a silver peel off sentiment with my Promarker and put this on the top section of the tag.
To finish off I added ribbon, buttons and Ice Stickles.

Ingredients:-
  • Image - Munchies by Karen Middleton which is available from the Sweet Pea Store as a digi.
  • Colouring Medium - Promarkers
  • Dies - Spellbinders Grand Scallop Ovals
  • Ribbon, Ice Stickles and buttons from my stash

Santa Hunk

Time for another challenge over at

Challenge #31
Make Us Laugh

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, just remember, you must use and IKEsART image to be eligible for the prize.  Why not pop on over to the store too :), Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

Now this was rather a hard challenge, I do love colouring, I love crafting but 'jokes', - can't tell them, can't remember them and often don't get them hahahahaha.  I hope I manage to give you a laugh

The first laugh is on me - I always write my posts as soon as I create my bit of art work and get it schedulled as I have a memory like a sieve.  For some very strange reason I had totally forgotten to do this one and did not realise until I saw on the FaceBook fan page that Ginny had posted hers - oops so sorry Ike :) xx

These days it seems like Christmas comes round all to fast and with the weather in so many areas of our poor planet being up the creek. With these thoughts in mind my card was born.

I used the image 'Santa Hunk' and what a hunk he is - I wonder how many of you would like him popping down your chimney :) :) :) He was coloured with my ever faithful Promarkers and finished off with some white glitter
Next I used some spring lamp paper to make my mats and embossed some holly on the smaller one.  The tag followed the same theme and I fussy cut one of the lambs from the DP.
To finish off the tag I painted a chipboard sheep white - well it should be white after 3 coats but looks more cream to me!!! I also used a wee daisy button with a pink centre.
On the inside of the card I used some more of the DP and also embossed the same holly embossing as I had on the front of the card.
And there we have it - a global warming Christmas card :) :) :)

Ingredients:-
  • Image - Santa Hunk'  by IKEsART
  • Colouring medium - Promarkers
  • Embossing - Holly embossing folder but I can't remember the company
  • From my stash - DP, Stickles, chipboard sheep, button

Bella

Good morning peeps, today I am sharing a Valentine card I have made using the gorgeous image 'Bella' by Conie Fong available from Sweet Pea Stamps.

This creation is for the challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More who are being sponsored by Sweet Pea Stamps.  Hope you will stop by and join in the fun :) :) :)

To begin with I designed and cut a couple of doilies, designed on Illistrator, saved as .svg and then cut with my die cutter.  The larger of the two I later coloured in a Warm Grey Promarker and the smaller one in Poppy Red Promarker
Next I coloured the super sweet image again with Promarkers
For the mat which the digi will be mounted on I wanted to try something new.  I bought a cheap sewing machine a couple of days ago as I love using lace on my cards and this really is the easiest way to attach it with little mess.  I alas only bought white sewing thread lol but my trusted Promarkers came to the rescue again :) :) :)
For the inside of the card - I embossed the front of the card before adding the die cuts so it would show through on the inside of the card.  I added a border die cut which is only attached at the bottom edge and the sides so the giver of this card can add a little something there is they wish.  A big heart die cut in white paper was added for the writing area.

Ingredients
Image - 'Bella' by Conie Fong available from Sweet Pea Stamps
Colouring Medium - Promarkers
Dies - Cherry Lyn Heart to Heart Doily
From my stash - lace, glass flowers and brads

Bleeding Hearts Sprite

Sweet Pea Stamps

Today is my day to showcase and image from Sweet Pea Stamps and I have chosen to work with the beautiful image Bleeding Hearts Sprite by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff which is available from the Sweet Pea Store in rubber
I don't mind making Christmas card, I hate Halloween and Easter cards but oooooo I so love Valentine cards so this week, saying as it is February, the month of love I could not resist.  To begin with I cut the sections of my card on my die cutter.
Next I covered the back of the folded sections with pink and silver mesh.
The image was coloured with Promarkers
Next I took some narrow lace and stitched on side with running stitch so I could gather it up.  Using some bought satin roses I coloured them with my pink Promarker, the same as one of the colours as used in the image.
Using an 'I Love You' Sizzix die cut I created the text. With another Sizzix die I made the heart.  As I wanted lots of height here I used pearls to create the spacing between the text and the heart and again on the back of the heart where it will be attached to the card.
Here you can see the front of the card.  A white lace bow was added to the heart/text die cut, a swirly die cut and three of the five flowers I made to complete the embellishment.
Close up of the text and heart, you can really see the height achieved here by using the pearls.
Middle heart of the card has one swirl die cut, a metal silver double heart and another of the flowers in the centre.
The final section of the card has the digi.  I added more lace behind the digi, the same lace I used for the flowers so it would match. Chalk was used to colour the white space around the image.  I then used the final flower to hold the card sections in place when opened.
And here we have the finished card.

Ingredients:-
  • Image - Bleeding Hearts Sprite by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff
  • Colouring Medium - Promarkers
  • Dies - Sizzix Heart and I Love You, Cherry Lyn b127-Tropical-Flourish, card cut by Rae Carr
  • Flowers, lace, pearls etc from my stash
